Stylish Wedding at The Joinery

When I first met Alex and Ella, it was a beautiful summer night in early August and there was just a little over one month to go before their wedding. We bonded over craft beers at a cool neighborhood hangout and kicked planning mode into gear. All the major details were laid out; they just needed some help bringing it all together. Getting to know them was So MUCH FUN. Ella and Alex’s laid-back style melded perfectly and as I would soon find out, mirrored the warm, funky vibe of their Logan Square Venue, The Joinery.

The Joinery, nestled back a few blocks away from the Milwaukee, Armitage and Western triangle, is a restored vintage millwork shop. The beautiful open space boasts exposed brick, natural light, and an industrial style complete with an open-air courtyard perfect for cocktails! I think my favorite element of the whole venue is an upstairs authentic speakeasy suitable for some fun memories with the wedding party, complete with great photo ops! As a bonus, there is a complete AirBnB available for rent so the party can keep going after the last call..

Ella and Alex complemented the style of The Joinery with the perfect decor from Flowers for Dreams. Their floral designers added just the right greenery elements to enhance, not detract from the space. Alex and Ella sealed the deal under a copper Chuppah with greenery and carried that look over to the dinner reception bu using garland to adorn the beautiful wood estate tables set for their guests.

Alex and Ella were able to capture their vibe through every moment of their day down to the food provided by Beyond Events and their fantastic DJ, Tim of Toast & Jam. This wedding would not have been complete if they served cake, rather...they brought in piles of pies from Hoosier Mama. Luckily, we managed to spare the bride and groom their favorites before it was too late. These pies were such a hit that every last crumb was consumed by their guests!

I loved every last detail of this wedding and the team Alex and Ella chose to make it all happen. I look forward to the opportunity of working with everyone again and wish Alex and Ella eternal happiness.
